The Biggest Dual-Console Yet

I got a jaw-dropping close look at the spectacular new Freedom 375 from Grady-White at the Miami International Boat Show. At 36’ 7” long, it is the biggest dual-console boat to date. Yet, this Grady offers much more than an oversized open bow.

Amenities aboard the new 375 are pleasingly abundant and solidly engineered with innovative designs that allow you to tuck things away when you don’t need them. And of course, it all rides on an eminently seaworthy C. Raymond Hunt-designed SeaV2 hull.

Where to start? How about a new entry point? On the model at the show, there’s an optional side door on the starboard side of the aft cockpit. Like everything else on this Grady, it sports beefy stainless steel hardware. A removable boarding ladder let’s you use the door to go diving or swimming, as well as to board the boat.

Once aboard, one of the first features you’ll see is the summer galley and wet bar abaft the helm seating. Behind the companion seating is a pull-out Corian countertop.

It’s hard to top the 375’s exclusive AV2 hardtop. It features a sunroof and a sunshade that extends aft. The top also includes uniquely designed overhead horizontal rod storage, and the boat at the show features an optional fold-down flat-screen TV over the port console.

Speaking of consoles, these are a far cry from glorified storage compartments. The port console features a dinette that converts to a berth, a closet and an entertainment center that includes a 19” flatscreen TV. The starboard console contains a shower and marine head, as well as small galley area that includes a Corian countertop and microwave oven.

The bow area has deluxe seating for six and a pair of innovative half-moon removable tables that allow a pathway forward even when the tables are in use.

Moving aft, a signature feature borrowed from previous Freedom models is a motorized seat bottom on the port side, which extends aft to create a lounger or retracts to become a comfy seat.

Also innovative is the helm seating, which accommodates three adults and is electronically adjustable to suit just about anyone. There are two tiers of footrests. The helm itself is impressive, offering room for two 15.5” multi-function displays, with a tilt-and-lock stainless wheel providing superb control over the 375’s maximum power of triple Yamaha 350 outboards.

While you’re piloting this new dual-console, a wrap-around settee with a removable cantilevered dining table opposite the helm station invites guests to take a load off. 

Of course, Grady has not forgotten that fishing will occupy a fair proportion of the 375’s time at sea. Witness the optional 30-gallon bait tank built into the transom, as well as the gunwale rod holders that rim the aft cockpit.
