A big dual console like Grady-White’s Freedom 307 affords the weather protection of a cabin boat to the cockpit. But open the walkthrough and your crew can move forward to fish or just relax and enjoy the ride in the plush seating. Seats abutting the consoles allow reclining, and are deep enough so that crew seated here don’t impede the skipper’s view — an important aspect when shopping for a dual console. A table deploys for mealtimes, and an optional filler makes the bow a sun pad. With completely self-bailing cockpit and stowage, boats like the Freedom 307 are safe at sea and easy to hose off after a day of fishing, tubing or beachcombing.
