Chris Fertig is set to attempt a record run from New York City to the island of Bermuda, aboard his Statement Marine 37 powered with twin diesel Cummins MerCruiser TDI's. With the weather green light, he is scheduled to leave New York Harbor tomorrow, August 4th at around 9:30 am. Followers of the Bermuda Challenge will recall that Fertig attempted the run last year, but had to turn back due to unpredictable and inclement weather. Here is Fertig's first-person account of last year's run.

Hopefully this year the weather holds and Fertig gets to put those TDI Diesels to the test. Here is our review of those diesels based on doing a performance test aboard Fertig's Statement Marine 37: Cummins MerCruiser TDI.
