Stingray 214 LR Sport Deck

Ski or cruise, the 214 LR Sport Deck is well equipped to please a family and their friends.

Stingray Boats’ 214 LR Sport Deck delivers great handling and a low price by combining the efficiency of the Z-Plane hull with the performance of a Yamaha F150 outboard. The outboard gives rewarding acceleration, sporty top speed, and efficiencies in fuel economy and maintenance that sterndrives can’t touch. For entertaining, this 21-footer has a full menu of features, including a spacious head compartment that can be equipped with a pump-out toilet. An inset sink and cockpit cooler in the galley handle libations.

Spacious seating all round delivers comfort. The vinyl was resilient and the padding Euro-firm. Like a BMW on the autobahn, we felt the water beneath us, but the seating cushioned us from excessive shock as we doubled back on our wakes and sliced through them.

Wraparound seating aft of the helm and passenger buckets give a ton of space for the crew to stretch. First-class seats at the bow are roomy too, and access to the boat is eased by a bow boarding step as well.

If you are a die-hard sterndrive fan, the 215 LR Sport Deck is the comparable vessel, sporting the beam-to-beam swim platform and swim pad that sterndrives accommodate so well. If you’re not, the tow pylon is an option you should select.
