While the company’s AMG-themed 50 Marauder got most of the attention at the 2017 Miami International Boat Show, Cigarette Racing Team also showed the new 42 Huntress GTO, which is targeted at boat buyers seeking the performance and rough-water capability of the 42 Huntress, but with an open, center console cockpit.

There is easy passage to the bow, which Cigarette Racing Team calls the “conversation area,” on each side of the console. The bow has an extra-large, three-person lounge, and there’s space for three large Garmin chart plotters at the helm. The cabin has a side-entry door and a luxurious interior with U-shaped seating that can convert to a berth and the same-size head as the original huntress with 6 feet 4 inches of headroom. A windlass and bow thruster come standard, and the boat can be equipped with air conditioning and a generator.

For improved performance, the 42 Huntress GTO is reportedly 40 percent lighter than the standard Huntress model, according to a report published by speedonthewater.com. Expected top speed for the boat with quad Mercury Racing Verado 400R outboards is 81 to 83 mph.
