When the Progressive Miami International Boat Show moved to Virginia Key for the 2016 edition of the show, organizers also committed to upping the quality of fare served at the show. They continue to build on that commitment, as I was shown a few days ago during a press preview of the show and tour of the grounds during setup.
There are five distinct areas to purchase food at the 2017 Miami Boat Show. Two of these are right on the water. All offer a variety of food, ranging from plated fare to finger food, and including vegetarian and gluten-free options. In addition, there will also be ” kiosks everywhere,” according to show manager, Ben Wold, for ” grabbing a quick bite or drink on the run.”
Perhaps the best—certainly the most unique for a boat show—food option are the food trucks contracted to operate at the 2017 Progressive Miami International Boat Show. I had a chance to sample the offerings from a number of these food trucks, and can say they are my choice for boat show eats.
I especially recommend the ” Overboard Chocolate” from Hip Hops gelato truck, the pulled pork from King of Racks, the Caprese Melt ( fresh Mozz-Tomato and Basil ) from Killer Melts, and the baba ganoush from Moty’s Grill
In any event, food trucks are hot everywhere and it’s nice to see them at the boat show.
