Hi all. I'm new to boats and
Hi all. I'm new to boats and am wondering if i could get any tips on buying a used boat. Am currently looking at a 21-ft Avanti deep hull which is about 13 yrs old. Its got one Mercury 200hp and a standby 60hp. Electronics are pretty dated but the owner says it all works. Any advise on what to look out for?
Hey Weisul--First off, the electronics are cheap compared to the motor and hull, especially for a 21 footer. Second, that 60 isnt going to push you. Tell me more.

Hi, I am new. This is a great site.
Hey, I'm new too. Not new to boating, been doing that since I was five, new to the Boating Forum.
How is everyone? Lapespoop, Op Bob, Ted, Pat, Balexander, J, Cpubud, bossman...
It's good to be here with my brothers and sisters in the boating world. It's been far too long. Here in New England, boating is seasonal, five months long. We are in winter doldrums now our renewed annual craving to be back on the water beginning to peak.
Just being able to talk about boating should "bridge the gap". I'm glad to know this forum exists. I'm sorry I didn't know about it sooner.
In the meantime, see you on the boards, blogs and forums.
Hope this site and forum are as good as the magazine-tough act to follow.
HI I'm new here but have been boating my hole life . Love the mag
how do I post a profile pic?
Like it says, I am new to the forum. We have a 92 Glastron G1700, and have a cottage on Lake Ontaro near Olcott Beach. We hate winter up here, because we have to put our baby away for a long period of hibernation. We run the big lake, the Erie Canal, the Finger Lakes, and where ever else we trailer the "little lady" to. Hi to all
I thinl thisd sitre is more user interesting. Keep up the work, and always keep the average boater in mind.
I really enjoyed the boating life magazine, and hopefully this one will hold up to it. I just hope they don't forget about the smaller boats. That was my favorite thing about the other magazine.
with any luck at all it will stay active and usfull and not die a slow death and become outdated.
Welcome!
The site has been redone and it looks great. I hear that there will be more upgrades in the near future. Finally a site that talks to me about boats from real professionals. Not just a bunch of classified listings. And the virtual test drives are very cool.

Been do'in this since I was a little swab, took my first boat trip to fish when I was 6 and fell in love with it. It ain't cheap, but tis allot of fun, and the interesting people you meet along the way.....Ahrrrrr. So get yer' sea legs and take the plunge. Whether she runs or not isn't the question, but do you have it in ya to go after the booty? Eye!
