Hustler Powerboats (www.hustlerpowerboats.com) took an affordable approach to performance at the Miami show with two Checkmate models, a Talon 25-foot catamaran and a Hustler 29 Rockit MC. The Checkmates (www.checkmatepowerboats.net) included a 2400 BRX with a single Mercury Verado 300 outboard and a 2600 Convincor powered by a 430 hp MerCruiser 8.2 Mag HO engine.
The eye-catching yellow, orange and red 25 Talon had a pair of 300 hp Mercury Racing OptiMax 300XSs clamped to the transom. It was equipped with carbon-fiber dash panels, a Mercury Racing VesselView 4 display, and facing seats below the aft hatch. For maximum versatility, the first 29 Rockit MC is a 29-foot-long midcabin bowrider with a Mercury Racing 540 engine under the hatch.
Hustler also had two large boats in the water available for demo rides at the show: a 41 Razor with twin Mercury Racing HP700 SCi engines and a 388 Reloaded powered by twin Mercury Racing 565s. The original 388 Slingshot was designed for Mercury Racing’s HP 500s.
