News: Florida Senators Concerned About Biscayne Park Closures
Florida Senators Marco Rubio and Bill Nelson filed a joint letter with the National Park Service regarding its plan to close access to 20 percent of Biscayne Bay National Park. The proposed closing has been a hot button issue with Florida’s boaters, and has been vehemently fought by the National Marine Manufacturer’s Association (NMMA). The organization believes the closing will have a negative impact on Florida’s boating industry, which it says brings in $4.5 billion a year and provides 45,000 jobs in the State. News: SuperStock Boats Set World Speed Records
Livorsi Marine and Pier 57 boats each set separate SuperStock world speed records at the APBA Kilo Run in Biloxi, Misssippi. Livorsi took the “panther” class with a two-way speed of 68.286 mph, and the Pier 57 boat established a ProAm mark with a speed of 65.516 mph. Cool stuff for open cockpit boats with outboard power.
