my 2001 suzuki 4 stroke outboard 90 hp running only myat 48-5000 rpn only reaches a max.speed of 25mph...new prop.
max rpms iam reaching is about 48-5000..my max speed is about 25mph which is slow,thinking it was the prop.I changed it w/no difference engine starts fine no problems,no stalling out (runs great)except for above problem.Not sure what to look for at this point.New to game. lost about 15mph at max speed

It would help if you told us the prop sizes, material etc and the boat you have and what RPM you were achieving previous to the problem.
That said, are the wires on the right plugs and are all cylinders firing? What is the cylinder compression ( should be all about equal)? Is the boat's bottom clean?

prop size is 3x14x17 i replaced with the same one that was on it (brand new)no difference still same....i have a 2001 palm beach white cap 181 center C. 17ft 10 in. reaching max rpm was 4800/5000 rpms at ao speed around 35/38mph.Plugs and wires would have to be replaced in spring.. bottom of boat dtd have a algae on it needed power washer to remove ..Kevin thanks for information something to look at in spring.if any more info i do appreciate it.....thanks alot
