I'm concerned about adequate filtration for ethanol water-separation (Feb. 2011, Boating Mag, Page 20), for my (2) OMC 235 I/O (Ford 351 V8).
My (2) Sea Ray SRV 200s (1975 & 1976) with OMC 235 engines both have original fuel filters. I restored one in 2006, including replacing the engine with a remanufactured marine Ford 351 V8, reinstalling the original fuel filter. I'm in the process to doing the same to the second. Should I consider replacing the original fuel filters with ones like those you list on page 22 of the Feb. 2011 issue, or are the original fuel filters sufficient? I've had not problem with separated or contaminated fuel for the past 5 summers. I live in dry Colorado.ThanksDon

That would be OK to due in the dry area your in but if your redoing the boat or boats why not add a fuel / water separater type filter in the process, just added insurance for later.

Your dry climate definatley helps, but codensatin can still build up in the tank due to temperaure changes ( cool nights/hot days, etc). I have to recommend a water-separating fuel filter as a result.
