Comments on a 2011 Cobia 256
I am considering buying boat above. Have you done a test on this boat and if so, what were the results? General comments about the qualit of the boat would be appreciated.

You looking at the CC or the Express? Also, tell us a little about how you use a boat, where you use it and what do you have now? This will help us answer you better.
In general, Cobia is an excellent bang for the buck. Two-piece construction, neat, well-supported wiring, and a nice ride from deep-V hulls sporting more than 20-degrees of transom deadrise. These are my composite impressions having run several over the years. On the 256 CC in particular, I like the way the raised forward fishboxes are split, allowing you to walk all the way to the bow to cast or handle the anchor without having to step up on the boxes. And the boat is not trying to be all things to all people. These are fishing boats, pure and simple. Yamaha power is reliable.
Unfortunatley, a server error caused our archives to vanish last year, so I dont have a test to refer you to.
I would also advise you to consider the dealer. If you like your Cobia dealer and his rep for service--that means a lot.
