It sounds like your fuel is overheating and causing what is called fuel lock, and yes it happens on EFI/MPI boats, when was the last time you had a raw water pump replaced? I would check the fuel cooler on the left side of the motor, way down underneath it also has a plastic cover over it with the fuel lines going to and from it ,sounds like it might be plugged and not allowing the fuel to be cooled by the lake water, if the water impeller starts to come apart it can block the water going to the fuel cooler so thats where I would start good luck

Yup. SOunds like Vapor Lock. The fuel turns to vapor in the heat.

A 'quick fix" is to run the blower and/ or open the hatch for several minutes after you shut down and again a few minutes before you fire up again.

There were lots of service bulletins from Mercruiser back in th 06 timeframe about vapaor lock and some suggested solutiuons. Speak to your dealer.
