West Marine sells a sound proofing mat that sticks to the box sides, it has a reflective side to help reduce the transfer of heat and the other side is sticky, with a foam in between, to help deaden the noise, make sure you follow the instructions to a " T ", you don't want that stuff falling off while blasting down the lake and take out a belt, or plugging the intake. Good luck M :-)

Scorpion Coatings (www.scorpioncoatings.com) makes a great product named NHR (Noise and Heat Reduction) it is a ceramic product that you can spray on an then on the top you can apply a second coating of their spray on 3 component product (used lot of the times in truck bed liners) and you are going to see your noise problems gone. You can go on line and buy them both on line to do it yourself or you can ask them to recomend you an aplicator in your area.
