With the national championships decided, the best teams in offshore powerboat racing will gather in the southernmost city in the United States, Key West, Florida, November 6 to November 13 for the 2016 Super Boat International Key West World Championships. Teams in seven classes will race on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, and the titles will go to the boats with the best accumulated finishes from the three days.

The week kicks off with the teams arriving on Sunday, November 6. To get everyone in the mood for a week of racing, there is a parade down the famed Duval Street at 4 p.m. On Monday, the first mandatory driver’s meeting will be held at 8:30 a.m., and the day will be committed to technical inspection for the boats and dunk-testing for the drivers and throttlemen. On Tuesday, the teams get their first feel for the waters off Key West during testing, and the first race will take place on Wednesday at 10 a.m. The course will be open for commercial traffic from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and the second, third and fourth races will be held at 12:30, 1:30 and 2:30 p.m.

The teams will fix what they break on Thursday before heading out for the second round of races on Friday, and the week wraps up with the final day of competition on Sunday. For a complete schedule, check out www.superboat.com.
