Cascades are the midrange model offering Tahoe’s Quad Lounge floor plan. As that latter name implies, the 2585 is all about cruising in comfort. Inside the Cascade’s attractive deco walls, four roomy couches are spread throughout the interior, with twin 4-foot-4-inch offerings forward and matching 4-foot-4-inch lounges aft. Each features a sloping backrest for when you want to kick up your feet. Ample stowage is located below the single-hinged seats. Aluminum-frame bases with flow-through ventilation keep the stowage below dry and mildew-free. Contoured, deco-style seat cladding provides the real estate for attractive speaker mounts. The cladding is nicely matched to the solid vinyl color above. Looking for cup holders? They’re portable, allowing you to conveniently wedge a pair in place wherever needed. A pop-up changing room is concealed behind the forward portside lounge. Add an optional portable potty should you have a crew that needs more than a privacy enclosure.

Seating amidships consists of dual, comfortably padded captain’s chairs with flip-down armrests. Face forward underway, or pivot them in to join the party at rest. The one-piece fiberglass helm features ample stowage below as well as wood-grain accents, along with twin, nonslip-equipped nooks for items like a phone or GPS above. Drains for the latter guarantee no puddling. The standard Infinity stereo is Bluetooth-ready, meaning you can seamlessly play the music on your phone and sample your own private hit list. A standard Bimini promises shade for your crew. Step beyond the aft gate and note a 3-foot-6-inch-deep, vinyl-covered deck along with a four-step stainless-steel swim ladder.

The Cascade 2585 QL we tested ran on two 25-inch-diameter pontoons and was powered by a Mercury 90 hp Command Thrust outboard motor. That engine pushed our test boat almost immediately onto plane and authoritatively rushed it to 20 mph in 5.2 seconds. Top speed? A cruising-friendly 24.6 mph.
