Unless I'm reading this wrong, you can't have any corrosion because boat isn't in the water. It's on the lift. Leave batts off just as Kevin says.

Should be fine, your still around 500 lbs under rated capacity. Would be even better if your trailer had brakes!

No Kevin it takes more than that. My referal was to drain the water out of the lower unit thus prventing any water from freezing inside outdrive.

You would think so. I build transmissions and have seen 2" pieces of a snap-ring get sucked thru a filter and lockup the pump thus causing major damage.

I park mine behind my 6' privacy fence under the carport bought just for it, it has a tongue lock and a chain ran thru one wheel over the frame and padlocked. O forgot to mention the 2 German Shepard dogs (he is 95lbs) in the yard with it!!
