1990 MARINER 115HP OUTBOARD
asked by msandrews25 1 year 46 weeks agoI wouldnt go as far as saying you have a bad rod as of yet. Stick with the simple checks first. First check I would do is take the prop off and hook up your water hose to the engine and see if you still have the same problem. If you dont I would say the prop may be binding at a lower speed, may have bent when you sucked up the line. A bent prop dont always shake at all RPM ranges.3 answers | answer question -

'93 Carver 300 twin Crusader 350 & v drive tran. starb engine started running 180 while port 150, replaced impell & thermo, no luck ?
asked by Rob Bish 1 year 49 weeks agoNo intake strainers?? I would install some ASAP. As for the problem Kevins answer is a good start. A fast a pretty good check of risers and elbows is to start the engines and let them get warm. You should be able to lay your hand on the risers and elbows with out them burning you. If you touch them and you move your hand back like you just touched a oven burner then I say your riser or elbows or both are pluging up. Check your water coming from your exhaust too. Does it look normal or has the flow slowed down? Any dips in your wet exhaust hoses can casue an engine to start running hot as well and if they are dipping then its time to repalce them as well. Scale and rust lodge in the mufflers will casue the same problem.May have to remove them and shake them and see if you hear anything rattleing around inside the mufflers. Here one I came across couple years ago, winter lay up a familly of squirrls had made a home inside the exhaust tubing about a foot or so from the outlet. Make sure your exhuast is clear.2 answers | answer question -
350 Mag inboard overheats at low idle in gear
asked by markb 1 year 47 weeks agoCould be a cooler problem if you have them on your engine. I see you replaced the raw water impeller, did you take the hoses off the pump to do so? If you did you may have installed them backwards. I have seen more then one pump and impeller replace again and again for that reason. Its rumored that it dosent make a diffrence but thats a bad rumor the suction and discharge hoses cannot be reversed. If they are you will still get some cooling and some water out of the exhaust but not the amount your supposed to.2 answers | answer question
