Learning how to use the throttle when docking can help you avoid accidents.

Docking a boat can be tricky at times. Tight quarters with wind or current make for challenging conditions. Throw in a group of people watching your every move, and it can get downright nerve-wracking. Understanding how to use your throttle properly can make docking easier and alleviate much of the stress. Unfortunately, this week’s Boating Fail forgot the cardinal rule of docking, never approach a dock faster than you want to hit it, and hammers the throttle at a most inopportune time.
