We Say: Open says-a-me! Flip the latch and a changing room pops out of the aft casting platform aboard Princecraft’s uber-fishable Platinum SE 207. A first-class walleye-slayer, this rig melds a big-water ride, rocky shore durability and a host of family amenities. It’s the fish ‘n’ ski redefined.
Armored with double hull plating fore and aft, the Platinum SE 207 confidently prowls the boulder gardens. The hull is 5052 H-36 aluminum, an alloy combining durability with flexibility. Dual livewells with integral minnow buckets, a locking rod locker, Lowrance’s X-52 fish finder and casting platforms fore and aft highlight the angling accouterments.
But the forward platform morphs into V seating, a conversion I easily executed with a flip of the wrist. Along with a transom casting platform that converts to seating, and options like the ski pylon, bow cushion, portable head and changing room, the Platinum SE 207 rivals many bowriders for comfort — especially with its tall, protective windshield. Side panels with stowage and speaker mounts are other runabout touches. A matching trailer is standard. But, at 2,000 pounds, the Platinum SE 207 is faster and more efficient than a comparably powered ’glass boat. It rides Princecraft’s proprietary double reverse-chine hull. Going full throttle, we ripped across the lake in excess of 55 mph. Open wide!
