Regal 27 FasDeck

The 27 FasDeck is the latest evolution of the deck boat.

Sporting form reminiscent of an Italian sport boat, Regal’s 27 FasDeck is a stylish take on the deck-boat concept. Forward, the elongated bow features a wide nonslip, V-shaped platform for boarding. A combination ladder/anchor locker is tucked safely below a center hatch. Opting for the windlass for ultimate ease of use is a wise investment. Dual lounges feature handy flip-down armrests. The stowage beneath these is accessed with the assistance of gas struts, and like all stowage aboard, is protected from water intake by a raised lip.

The main cockpit is highlighted by the extra-wide helm seat and aft-facing port lounge. Regal refers to the latter as Arena seating, and it enhances the social aspects of the cockpit. A long, deep head compartment offers Flexi-teak flooring and upscale cabinet and countertop. Clearly the highlight, however, is the multiposition Ultralounge aft seat/sun pad. It offers multiple configurations to tailor the boat to its current use.

The 27 uses Regal’s trademark FasTrac hull design. It features a midbeam step, which reduces drag by forcing air under the hull. With a Volvo Penta 5.7 Gi DuoProp, our test boat planed in 4.8 seconds and achieved a 45.6 mph top speed. Handling was precise and surprisingly aggressive.
