Superboat Correction

Rarely do I like it when I get something wrong, but in last month’s issue I said that I had heard that Superboat was no longer building boats at its facility in Lindenhurst, New York. Fortunately, I was wrong. Superboat is building two new center-console models on its proven 24′ and 30′ bottoms. “We’ve had three or four guys asking for a bigger boat with a sit-down console with bucket seats,” said Superboat president John Coen. What makes the boats unique is the bucket seats at the console instead of a typical leaning post. Additionally, to add space in the stern, it has a small splashwell with a door and a removable bench seat. Coen is rigging the first 30-footer with a 350 hp Mercury Verado, and he hopes to see 70 mph.
