Daytona Beach, Fla. – June, 2015 – Summertime. It means longer days, sandy toes and beachside bonfires. It means warmer weather, dock parties and boat flotillas. For days when your top speed is a stroll, Costa introduces two new lifestyle sunglasses to its collection, Playa and Pawleys.

A classic retro style, Playa moves easily from sunrise to sunset. It features sleek construction in a medium fit, complete with durable co-injected molded nylon frames and hypoallergenic rubberized no-slip nose pads. The optical spring hinge helps provide a “forget-they’re-on” fit. Playa is available in a variety of frame colors, including honey tortoise, coconut fade, matte Caribbean fade, black + amber, and Costa’s new tri-color fusion technology, black + white + aqua and light tortoise + white + aqua.

Pawleys, named after the iconic South Carolina coastal beach town, features a combination frame comprised of high quality Monel® metal and sturdy nylon. The large frame ranks high in style points as well as premium performance features, including a lightweight fit and optical spring hinge.

“Both Playa and Pawleys are great looking sunglass styles that bring all of the performance technology elements you’d expect in a pair of Costas,” said Chas MacDonald, president of Costa. “No matter where your adventures take you this summer, these styles can help complete your look while providing world class lens technology.”

Both Pawleys and Playa, like all Costa sunglasses, can be customized in the brand’s full array of patented color enhancing polarized 580™ lenses. Costa’s 580 lens technology selectively filters out harsh yellow and harmful high-energy ultraviolet blue light. Filtering yellow light enhances reds, blues and greens, and produces better contrast and definition while reducing glare and eye fatigue. Absorbing high-energy blue light cuts haze, producing greater visual clarity and sharpness.

Costa’s 580™ lenses, the clearest lenses on the planet, are available in either glass or impact resistant polycarbonate. Lens color options include: gray, copper, amber, sunrise, blue mirror, green mirror and silver mirror. Pawleys and Playa are also available in customized Rx sun lenses.

For Costa, conservation is all about sustainable fishing. Many fisheries that should be vibrant and healthy are all but devoid of native fish because they have fallen victim to poor fishing practices, unregulated development, lack of watershed protection or all of the above. Costa works with partners around the world to help increase awareness and influence policy so that both the fish and fishermen of tomorrow will have healthy waters to enjoy. Costa encourages others to help in any way they can.
