Portable Bluetooth-enabled speakers abound today. Yet the new, waterproof StereoActive from Fusion offers more than just a wireless audio box. It’s a multifeatured watersports stereo that you can take and secure on any craft, including stand-up paddleboards, kayaks and inflatable tenders.

Fusion is known for top-of-the-line marine stereo systems, and the portable, compact StereoActive carries that forward. It features built-in Bluetooth connectivity for streaming audio from a smartphone or tablet, an AM/FM radio with weather band, and a waterproof port for USB thumb drives.

Easy-to-press, rubberized and scalloped buttons on the keypad let you control functions and adjust volume with the touch of a finger or the tap of a paddle. You need not worry about spray or dumping your kayak because the unit carries an IPX7 waterproof rating. If you drop it overboard, no worries; it floats and is highly corrosion-resistant.

A uniquely designed mounting system lets you secure the StereoActive on any watercraft. There’s also a waterproof ActiveSafe box that couples with the StereoActive to keep valuables such as your mobile phone and wallet dry. The ActiveSafe floats too.

Speakers matched with the off-axis correction of the polycarbonate grille produce audio efficiently through the 20-watt system. StereoActive will play for up to 20 hours on a single charge, and the USB port also provides charging for Apple iPhone and Android devices. StereoActive is available in three accent colors: red, white or blue ($299.99, plus $99 for ActiveSafe); visit fusionentertainment.com.

Puck It!
To help secure the SteroActive portable sound system, Fusion has developed the Puck-It mounting system. It starts with a twist-and-lock, quick-release bayonet system that mates the mount with the StereoActive. The mount is available with a range of bases, including the standard Puck-It with adhesive-base or screw-mount options for craft such as stand-up paddleboards, kayaks and canoes, as well as your main boat. A wider, flexible base lets you glue a mount to an inflatable tender. For boats such as pontoons and fishing boats, there’s a base for ball-and-socket RAM Mounts and one for Railblaza rail mounts. In addition to the versatile attachment system, a flat mounting surface atop the StereoActive lets you mount a Garmin Virb, GoPro or other action camera.
