** Sperry Fugawi** $65 • 800/617-2239 • Breathable footwear makes sense in this season's humid, muggy climate. This made-for-summer sandal has buckle straps that lock feet into place. Quick-drying materials and an antibacterial shield fight odor and wetness. Nonmarking rubber soles reduce tumbles on deck. They come in three two-tone styles: charcoal and gold, navy and gray, and khaki and black.

** Touchless Boat Cover** • 877/679-2217 • Use the included remote control to lower this boat cover over your boat or waterbike. Its galvanized frame mounts on top of your boat, independent of your boat lift. Made of Sunbrella's marine-grade fabric, the cover comes in a variety of colors and has a built-in mesh strip that lets the air inside circulate. Cost of installation is not included in the equipment price.

Want to create your own look? Pettit can also mix custom colors to suit your style. Applied with a brush, roller, or spray, Vivid paints adhere to fiberglass, wood, and steel hulls.

Si-Tex ES502 $319 • 727/576-5734 • Want your chartplotter to think it's a fishfinder? Hook up the ES502 FishFinder Module to Si-Tex's ColorMax 6, ColorMax Wide, or ColorMax 11 and view fish imaging and bottom detail in dual-frequency (50/200kHz) or single-frequency operation on a color display. Maximum depth is rated at 1,200 feet at 200kHz and 4,000 feet at 50kHz. The unit includes a trip log, speed sensor, noise filter, and shallow, deep, fish, and temperature alarms.

Xantrex Battery Monitor $275 • 604/422-8595 • This battery monitor provides information about your battery's voltage, current, consumed amp hours, state of charge, time to go, and temperature. It also tells you if the battery is fully charged or needs a recharge. Add the external communications kit ($150), and you can share with your PC the battery information collected with the monitor. Compatible with 12- and 24-volt DC systems, the monitor works with any battery brand.

** RIB-Sleeve** Prices vary • 239/931-3730 • The RIB-Sleeve converts a soft-bottom inflatable into a more stable RIB. How? Made of a single piece of ¼"-thick polyethylene, the sleeve, which is shaped like a deep-V, covers an inflatable's hull and attaches to the front bow tube and the transom. The RIB-Sleeve weighs about 25 pounds. At press time, the company was accepting orders for RIB-Sleeves for Zodiac inflatables.

** Creative TravelSound MP3** $80 • 800/998-1000 • With its built-in 32MB MP3 player, this palm-size portable speaker plays one hour of downloaded music. It also connects to other portable music devices with headphone jacks, comes with a microphone for two hours of voice recording, and has a slot for a SmartMedia card, which expands memory to 160MB. It runs on AAA batteries and has a 20-hour battery life.

SkyMate 100 Series Starts at $929 • 866/759-6283 • The SkyMate 100 satellite communication system sends e-mail, fax, and voice messages, receives NOAA weather updates, and when connected to your GPS, produces transmittable position reports. Add a sensor kit that monitors bilge water level, battery voltage, and shorepower, and you've upgraded to the 100 SentryMate ($1,229). The 100 Tracker ($1,369), which has the communication capabilities of the 100, features an internal GPS for monitoring your boat from shore. Service plans sold separately.

** Westerbeke Safe-CO** Price not set at press time • 508/823-7677 • Westerbeke claims that its new electronically fuel-injected, gasoline generators reduce carbon monoxide emissions by more than 99 percent when compared with the emissions of conventional generators. The company offers nine models in two-, three-, or four-cylinder configurations. Power ranges from 3kW for small boats with few appliances to 25kW for powering multiple units and electronic devices on large boats.

Lowrance iFinder H2O $259 • 800/324-1356 • Lowrance's GPS/WAAS-enabled, waterproof handheld features built-in background maps for the United States and Hawaii that include navaids, wrecks, and obstructions. It stores 1,000 waypoints, 1,000 event markers, 100 routes, and 100 plot trails with 10,000 points per trail. It accepts Navionics Classic, Gold, and HotMaps electronic charts. Its 3" diagonal LCD features a 240-by-180-pixel, backlit screen.

BoatMates Pedestal Cooler $40 • 440/617-9072 • Thanks to a heat-sealed, PVC-insulated liner, this portable cooler chills cans (up to 24) for nearly eight hours. Its hook-and-loop fastening straps attach to the pedestal of a helm chair, and quick-release snaps attach two coolers back to back. A mesh pocket on the outside holds sundries, and the nonslip bottom keeps it in place.
