PulseTech Battery Analyzer

The 390PT Battery Analyzer will tell you if that battery is worth salvaging.

PulseTech is the maker of Xtreme Charge digital charging equipment that constantly monitors battery power and sends out an electric pulse “tuned” to de-sulfate your battery. This extends its life and increases performance while charging and conditioning it. The new PulseTech 390PT Battery Analyzer will tell you if that battery is worth salvaging. I attached the alligator clips to an ailing battery’s terminals and followed the prompts on the LCD to enter data like voltage, amps and battery type. Mine was an AGM — absorbed glass mat — not a flooded cell battery. In seconds the LCD reflected that the battery was good but needed recharging. After charging it, the report was “good and charged.” Another battery failed according to the unit and was discarded. Complementary functions enable you to test your boat’s charging system as well. It’s not priced for a one-battery boater, but a power cruiser with multiple batteries would benefit, and so would members of any boat club. $329.95; pulsetech.net
