The 2015 Lake of the Ozarks Shootout will be another display of serious speed. The weeklong event starts on Aug. 15 with the seventh annual PWC Dam Run. The serious hardware rolls into town on Thursday, Aug. 27, when the Racer Village is set up. Boaters can register for the Shootout Poker Run that day, and the evening caps off with a meet-and-greet with the shootout racers at the Performance Boat Center. Friday, Aug. 28, features the poker run and inspections for the shootout. On Saturday, Aug. 29, the shootout runs begin with personal watercraft at 8:30 a.m. At 10 a.m., the opening ceremonies begin the competition in earnest, and manufacturers have priorities on the course from 11 a.m. to noon followed by professional classes from noon to 2 p.m. At 2:50 p.m., there will be a missing-man flyover for the late Mike Fiore, founder of Outerlimits Powerboats, who crashed at last year’s event and eventually succumbed to his injuries. Competition resumes on Sunday with the awards being handed out at 4 p.m. Check out www.lakeoftheozarksshootout.org.
