New Photos for Great Lakes and Trent-Severn Added to C-MAP MAX

Jeppesen C-MAP MAX charts now feature 50 new aerial photos for Great Lakes and Trent-Severn Waterway.

Navigation expert Jeppesen has recently added 50 new aerial photos to its popular C-MAP MAX electronic charts for the Great Lakes and Trent-Severn Waterway in Canada.

These high-resolution aerial photographs of locks, bridges, marinas and harbor inlets will enhance the navigational experience throughout the Trent-Severn Waterway, providing a powerful visual reference to enhance situational awareness.

This 386-kilometer canal system was originally created for commercial shipping, but is now one of Canada’s most popular recreational boating “highways.” Registered as a Canadian National Historic Site, the Trent-Severn Waterway connects Lake Ontario at Trenton to the Georgian Bay portion of Lake Huron at Port Severn. It includes a series of natural waterways such as the Trent River, Otonabee River, Kawartha Lakes, Lake Simcoe, Lake Couchiching and the Severn River. It also features 32 kilometers of man-made channels, 44 locks, 39 swing bridges and 160 dams and control structures to manage water levels for navigation and flood control. Accurate, up-to-date electronic charts and the situational awareness of detailed aerial imagery are critical in navigating these popular and challenging waters.
