The last weekend of August is going to be a busy one for offshore powerboat racers. In addition to the shootout and the Super Boat event in Ohio, the Offshore Powerboat Association will have a race in Fall River, Massachusetts, starting August 26. On Friday, the boats will arrive at Borden Light Marina, and there will be a racers’ meet-and-greet at the Tipsy Toboggan restaurant followed by live entertainment.
Testing is open to the teams on Saturday from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. The lineup for the 5 p.m. boat parade starts at 4:30, which will be followed by a block party on Saturday evening.
On Sunday, it’s time to get down to business with races starting at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., and awards to follow at 6:30. Get the full schedule at www.oparacing.org.
