The Premier 250 Intrigue PTX is one of the sportiest pontoons around, yet it’s laden with so many great comfort features that any type of boating family will enjoy it. Our test model featured the PTX performance package, which adds a third tube along the centerline that tapers to a flat 12-inch planing pad at the transom. Combined with the lifting strakes on the outer tubes, the PTX package gives the 250 Intrigue sporty handling and a near-instantaneous hole shot, which is great for towing boarders or tubers. It’s also great that the PTX package allows Premier to build a 7-foot-long ski locker in the center tube, hidden under the bow flooring. Powered with a Yamaha F250 outboard, our test model hit 42 mph, taking 7.3 seconds to reach 30 mph.

Adding the sturdy aluminum sport arch provides a higher tow point, so boarders can get lift for their tricks while keeping the tow line clear of the outboard. It features a power Bimini top that extends and retracts with the push of a button. It also has a moon roof to keep the cockpit bathed in natural light, if that’s what you want, and the built-in stereo speakers are pretty hot.

Whoever takes the wheel will love the high-back Flexsteel 7-Star helm chair. The Liberty II helm features a raised, two-tone fiberglass console and a carbon-fiber-looking dash with an inset Beacon display. The touch-screen system is like the nerve center of the boat, giving the captain fingertip access to digital gauges, the stereo controls, the GPS and more.

Behind the helm, the galley holds a pleasant surprise. With the push of a rocker switch, an electrically actuated wine waiter raises from the counter. The rear-facing lounge behind it houses the easy-opening Mirage changing room.

The twin convenience centers on the transom hold more entertainment amenities, a built-in cooler to port and a sink and paper towel holder to starboard.

Besides the sport arch and PTX package, our test boat had several other noteworthy options, including the boss Polk stereo system with LED speaker grills, the Turbo Swing tow bar, the movable deluxe cooler table, the sea-grass floor and black hammered rails. Again, a little something for everyone.
