The Z520C Carbon features an expanded front deck, padded with a recessed trolling motor pedal and tool holders to keep the angler organized. Ranger eliminated the pole and socket bow light, and flush-mounted the navigation lights. Unobstructive, you can switch these on and off at the trolling motor. Other builders will copy that.
Ranger tuned up its pioneering rod-stowage feature by adding grippy padding to the butt hangers that keep the rods from rattling while under way. How many rods? The Z520C can stow as many as 20 rods up to 8 feet, 6 inches in length. Convenience is added by slanting the butt-holder panel, which makes the rod rack easier to load and unload.
Ranger’s livewells are state of the art, with aeration, recirculation pumps and timers to keep fish fresh for the weigh-in and fighting when released.
But any fisherman knows the true beauty of the Z520C is in the way it steps out to 75 miles per hour at the flick of the throttle, with a ride so stable its a pleasure to drive, not a wrestling match.
