Retro Revival: Glastron Timeline

Founded in October 1956, Glastron produced 24 boats, grossing over $12,000 in sales by year’s end.

Tail fins! 1958 saw the debut of the 17 Sea Flite. Its hardtop mirrors today’s trend in boat enclosures.

Holy boats, Batman! The 1966 film Batman featured this custom Glastron.

Shaken, not stirred. This GT 150 leapt to fame in the 1973 Bond flick Live and Let Die.

In the 1980s Glastron offered ski boats, fish boats and, of course, saucy runabouts.

Glastron celebrates 55 years with the introduction of its GT series runabouts, including this GTR 160 that we tested.
