Mercury Racing extended the original June deadline for its Race to Repower rebate program to December 31, 2017, so time is running short to take advantage of the offer. Race to Repower provides incentives to upgrade classic performance vee bottoms and catamarans with the latest Mercury Racing 520, 540 or 565 sterndrive engines. The program includes a consumer cash rebate, a free Mercury Racing Zero Effort Digital control and DTS rigging kit, for a total value of up to $8,200. According to Mercury Racing, replacing a “legacy” powertrain with a 520, 540, or 565 power delivers a significantly improved driving experience through higher torque, lower cruise speed fuel consumption, and ultra-responsive digital control systems. The 520, 540 and 565 packages are backed with a comprehensive two-year limited warranty with the option to purchase up to three additional years of Mercury Product Protection on 520 models.
