Fast Boats at the Miami Boat Show

Visit the Mercury Racing display at this year's show and check out some really hot boats.

If you’re lucky enough to be heading to the Miami Boat Show later this month, make sure you check out the Mercury Racing display at the Sealine Marina in front of the Biscayne Bay Marriott. Every year, this gathering of boats is one of the most popular attractions at the show and with the boats the men in black have assembled for this year, that trend is sure to continue.

If you want to take a ride you’ll never forget, get in the Dave’s Custom Boats M41 Wide Body catamaran powered by with Mercury Racing 1350-hp engines with M8 drives. This boat’s estimated top speed is 175 mph so hang onto your hat.

If you’re a V-bottom fan, Outerlimits Powerboats will have an SL52 also powered by twin 1350s. This model is a new sit-down flagship for the Rhode Island-based manufacturer and should deliver a smooth ride in some pretty serious seas. Look for this boat to be a popular model with high rollers at poker runs.

Toning things down a bit, literally and figuratively, Velocity Powerboats will have its 390 V-bottom powered by twin Mercury Racing naturally aspirated 565-hp engines equipped with Mercury’s Stage 1 X-haust silencing system. Think of it as a stealth fighter on the water.

Finally, the long awaited first V-bottom from catamaran manufacturer Marine Technology Inc., the SV 42 stepped center console will make its debut at the show powered by four Mercury Verado 300-hp outboards. This boat should compete with high-end center-consoles from companies such as Deep Impact, Statement and Nor-Tech. No matter which one of these boats you take a ride on, it will make your outing to this year’s Miami Boat Show a memorable one.
