Lowe Victory 220

The triumph of Lowe’s Victory 220 is masterful mating of a sturdy, light and nimble aluminum hull to a sleek and spacious fiberglass deck. With its raked windshield protecting the cockpit and the Monster wakeboard tower tempting riders, this boat reaches far into the turf of top sport-boat builders.

Lowe kept the high performance and forgiving durability of aluminum so it could power the boat amply with a fuel-efficient Verado 175 outboard. For touring, it burned only 6.9 gallons per hour at nearly 25 mph. But despite its fuel-sipping capabilities, it burst onto plane in four seconds and hit 30 mph in just over eight seconds. Our top speed was just shy of 44 mph. And wake riders will be impressed with the ramps the Victory 220 rolled up.

To enhance its water-sports capabilities, Lowe added a boarding platform and a ladder that’s easily accessible from the water. That’s both a convenience and a safety feature now demanded for NMMA certification, because it allows a lone boater to reboard unassisted. The boat is also built with unsinkable flotation.

As showy as it is safe, the Victory offers exciting color combinations to enhance the sporty feel. Upholstery accents carry the look inside to the broad lounges, and the fiberglass cap allows the company to accent the Victory 220 with more trendy hues and smoother lines.

The bow of the boat is contoured with rails for safe seating. The cockpit layout features wide, comfortable seating with a rear-facing lounge on the passenger side and a rear bench. There is storage galore with compartments under the dual bow and L-sectional seating, in the port console and floor, and in the stern. Aft dual insulated storage compartments can serve as coolers, each capable of holding a dozen 12-ounce cans of your favorite beverage.

The helm console features tilt steering and a waterproof Fusion Marine AM/FM stereo with weather band, VHF, iPod dock and four 6-inch speakers. Full instrumentation with tach, volt, speed, fuel and trim gauges and tilting hydraulic steering finish the package.
