For 2017, Raymarine has rolled out a whole new line of touchscreen MFDs called Axiom. Available in 7-, 9- and 12-inch models, the series features all-glass faces, slim-line styling, and hardware that includes a high-speed quad-core processor running the new Lighthouse III software.

Axiom MFDs are 50 percent faster than previous models and excel in running multiple programs with no slowdowns, says Jim McGowan, marketing manager for Raymarine. Models with real-vision 3-D sonar will include chirp DownVision, SideVision and fish targeting using a single transducer. You can also run conventional 50/200 kHz sonar with a separate transducer.

Axiom models are Wi-Fi- and Bluetooth-enabled and will network with all current Raymarine accessories and existing MFDs. The optically bonded displays can be surface-, flush- or bracket-mounted. Prices range from $599.99 for the 7-inch chart-only model to $3,199.99 for the full-featured Axiom RV 12-inch MFD.
