SCROLL THROUGH THE GALLERY TO SEE SEVEN WINNING PERFORMANCE BOATS
The Friday afternoon tradition of racing offshore along the Jersey Shore returned on July 10 at the Manasquan River Veterans Offshore Grand Prix. The event was hosted by Hoffman’s Marina in Brielle, New Jersey, and was presented by the Offshore Powerboat Association and the New Jersey Offshore Powerboat Racing Association.
In addition to the racing, the boats that measured from 21 feet to 50 feet were on display in the race village that was open to the public throughout the weekend. In another highlight of the weekend, the New Jersey Offshore Powerboat Racing Association hosted military veterans and their families, providing them with front-row seats along the Manasquan beachfront to watch the races.
On Friday, July 10, at 10 a.m., the Route 35 bridge over the Manasquan River between Brielle and Point Pleasant Beach was dedicated as the Veterans of All Wars Memorial Bridge. There was a flyover and a blessing of the Coast Guard fleet. The bridge dedication committee is asking for donations to help pay for the $3,500 cost to have signs made and installed at both ends of the bridge. If you would like to donate, please make check payable to: American Legion Post 348 and indicate Bridge Sign Project in the memo. Checks should be mailed to:
