Stuart Hayim was on his way to breaking a record in an effort to raise money for The Don Monti Foundation for cancer research. Unfortunately, he encountered thick fog that significantly reduced visibility. While traveling at over 155 mph, the crew was suddenly surprised by a buoy which they hit. Their boat suffered extensive damage and the record run was aborted. Fortunately, no one was injured, but it serves as a reminder to never outrun your visibility.
