We Say: Mojito Boats is Rivolta Yachts’ new, affordable, entry-level line, with panga-style hulls in lengths from 16 feet to the Mojito 22 I tested.
Though the Mojito 22 looks like a panga, it performs better than those I’ve been aboard. It has a sharper entry, a wider beam and a deeper V — all contributing to it having greater stability and a smoother, drier ride than the typical working craft.
Innovation sets this boat apart. It boasts Divinycell-cored cockpit sole, a foam-block stringer grid, optional hull colors, an Atlas jack plate standard and a smaller-than-average console, at which I was comfortable seated or standing, that increases fishing room.
This Mojito 22 has an elegant air with its powder-coated rails and leaning post. Other nice engineering touches include self-bailing cockpit drains mounted lower than the deck so that water has no place to collect and a toe-kick all the way around the console, and even the cup holders have hoses to drain straight to the deck, rather than on wires and equipment.
The 22 sports high-quality recessed hatch hinges that are through-bolted and oversize. I appreciated the popup hardware, including the fair-leads, which minimize the chances for line snags and stubbed toes. You’ll find the Mojito 22 pretty affordable to operate too, as the numbers I recorded bear out.
Who’d Want One: Entry-level boating families seeking something their responsible children could run safely.
