Revolver 44GT

Following up its debut model, the R42 (reviewed by Boating, here), Revolver Boats is introducing the 44GT, which the Italian manufacturer calls a mix of power and cruise with its twin 550 hp Cummins diesel engines paired with Arneson surface drives and the same luxurious styling found in the 42-foot model. With the diesels and surface drives, the estimated top speed of the 44GT exceeds 60 mph.

The exterior lines were drafted by Alberto Mancini of AM Yacht Design. He wanted to emphasize style with an high-performance car influence. The interior focuses on the central helm structure. The separate captain’s and navigator’s seats have a carbon look, and the center console features Garmin touch-screen controls. The helm features dual monitoring stations that interface with navigation screens. There’s also an iPod docking station that controls a multizone sound system for all the areas of the boat. Behind the two captain’s and copilot’s seats are four passenger seats. A power glass roof opens to let in the sun and closes when things turn ugly. Like the R42 the 44GT has a sliding aft hatch that encloses the cockpit and hides away in the engine compartment. If you want to overnight, the bow has a large sofa that converts into a berth, and there’s a galley with everything you’d need for a weekend aboard. Finally, the head has abundant headroom, with a rain-style shower.

Regardless of the environment you’re boating in, the 44GT will keep everyone comfortable thanks to air conditioning. There’s also a generator.

Construction highlights include vacuum-bagged construction, and the boat is cored with Corecell foam. Laminates include E-glass biaxial fabric, and throughout the hull, deck and hardtop, carbon is used for reinforcements. Check out www.revolverboats.com.
