Centurion Ri237

Centurion's Ri237 can be ridden by wakesurfers and wakesurf boards of all shapes, sizes and abilities.

The Ri237 has long been seen as Centurion’s best all-around boat, but by adding the Opti-V hull, many will say this boat is even better. It’s a completely new running surface for 2018, with engineered triangular pads incorporated into the aft corners.

The Ri237 has always had a good wave — it’s the boat that pulls the World Wake Surfing Championship — but it is now easier and more intuitive to operate than ever. The Opti-V hull and QuickSurf allow you to change the focus from wakeboarding to wakesurfing almost instantly. With just the push of a button, a wave is created that is immediately up to professional-rider standards. If you are concerned that you would not be capable of running such an esteemed boat to its full wake- and wave-shaping glory, don’t be. The design and technology incorporated into Centurion’s Ri237 means that you and your crew can start enjoying awesome watersports experiences the day you take delivery of your boat. That holds true regardless of the level of your crew.

For example, one of our preferred boards went missing during the shoot and test of the Ri237. As a result, we rode behind this boat on a smaller board than we’d normally choose. It was a simple matter to adjust the center plate at 20 in order to peak up the wave a bit more and allow the smaller board to run better. This proved, in a practical way, that the wave produced by the Centurion Ri237 can be customized to suit all kinds of riders and boards.Ballast capacity is 5,100 pounds.

It delivers spirited performance en route to the ride too. With a 450 hp PCM engine turning a 16-by-15-inch Acme prop through a 1.72-to-1 reduction, we hit 37.8 mph at wide-open throttle and enjoyed 3 mpg economy at 22 mph. Time to plane proved a scant 3 seconds.

With seating for 16, there is plenty of room for all and their varying skill levels. Of course, you get the signature big-boat looks of the Ri line, updated for 2018 with a black-framed windshield and tactical-looking Ramfill vent. Sweet.
