Are you serious about catch-and-release fishing? Then consider using a cradle instead of a net. The black drum being brought boatside in this picture was cradled and kept in the water next to the boat, the hook was removed, and the fish was released safely. We liked this Frabill Kwik Kradle ($169; www.frabill.com because it has a single handle and can be operated from inside the boat, unlike cradles with two handles.
