The Future Is Now

Augmented reality hits boat shows In 2014.

Sea Ray 650 Fly

This will change everything.

I’ve been (half) joking for years that there will come a time when boat builders will present holograms, instead of real boats, at boat shows, marinas and showrooms. Besides the cost factor, this sci-fi scenario would allow us to see the boat optioned with the equipment we’d like and in the color we like instead of having to settle for the boat the dealer decided to stock.

Now Sea Ray comes out with an augmented reality app for iPad and iPhone that lets you virtually tour the new 650 Fly in a compelling and engaging way, with great detail and uber convenience.

Still images don’t do this app justice. Instead, head over to the App Store and download the Sea Ray 650 FLY AR app. Then point your iPhone or iPad at the image below (or download the scanable PDF here).

Prepare to be amazed.

We expect to see more and more boats presented this way. Of course, you can also see the Sea Ray 650 Fly in person at the Yacht and Brokerage Show, which runs concurrent with the Miami International Boat Show, and is headquartered on Collins Ave in Miami Beach.
