For many years, one of the most anticipated moments of the Miami International Boat Show was the unveiling of that year’s themed MTI catamarans. One of the first boats the Missouri-based manufacturer did was the Mercedes-style MTI 44-foot catamaran for owner Gino Garguilo. The boat was powered by Sterling Performance fuel-injected 1,550 hp engines with Dry-Sump Six drives, and with legendary throttleman John Tomlinson on the sticks, the boat ran 193 mph.
