Hall Em In Wood Lures

Wood is good.

I tossed Hall Em In’s Boca Bite at a school of feeding striped bass, feeling confident about dinner. But instead of a linesider, I hooked a six-pound flounder, or fluke as they’re called north of Dixie, hanging below the surface fray looking for an easy meal. On subsequent casts I caught my limit of stripers and a few bluefish as well. Wood is good.

Hall Em In hand-fashions wood lures from Spanish cedar in patterns and sizes to target most every game fish. You can specify cherry or mahogany if you desire a faster sink rate. The paint finish held up to toothy critters, and the VMC treble hooks were another sign of quality. Price: varies, $16 to $40; halleminlures.com; 407-254-5207
