The Florida Powerboat Club’s Miami Boat Show Poker Run took place February 18-21 and provided a unique opportunity for enthusiasts to see the newest offerings in performance boating. Some manufacturers and customers take their boats directly from the boat show to the run to show off a new model.

A two-day departure schedule gave participants four days of boating over the long weekend. The event started with check-in at the Grove Harbour Marina/Courtyard by Marriott from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. the night before a boat’s scheduled departure. The club had departures scheduled Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 10 a.m. Lunch stops were daily at Gilbert’s in Key Largo at noon. Fuel stops were at the Grove Harbor Marina and Postcard Inn Beach Resort and Marina.

On Friday night there was a cocktail party on the beach at Grove Harbor Marina, followed by dinner from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. On Saturday there was a raft-up party and fun runs to a variety of destinations, including Hawks Cay, Marathon and Key West, with aerial photo shoots. Saturday night wrapped up the weekend with the poker game, awards and sponsor appreciation dinner. For more information and results, contact www.flpowerboatclub.com.
