NextMarine is a ­program in which we’ll be bringing you the latest innovations in marine technology. In so doing, we hope to arm you with information to make even better boat, engine, marine accessory and marine services purchasing decisions. Creating informed boaters is part of our DNA.

In most cases, the subject matter will be an existing product or service that somehow breaks boundaries, advances its category, and benefits boaters in a tangible way. In other cases, we’ll shed light on advances that are in development but not yet available to the public. In rare cases, we’ll explore things that are not even in development. For instance, we might see monetary and intellectual resources flowing toward some “thing” and, looking at it with a boater’s eye, deem it potentially impacting recreational boating—at some time. Dividing these broad categories using time frames, some NextMarine topics deal with the here and now, others fit in a coming-soon category, while still others belong in the maybe-someday basket.
