Sperry Deck Runner Lace-Up

Sperry Deck Runners are among the most comfortable boat shoes right out of the box.

These may be the coolest Sperrys I’ve worn on my boat. On a recent trip in snotty weather, they stuck to the wet ramp, stuck to the winch I climbed over to board the trailered boat and stuck to the wet deck. To get them that way, I used a trick I learned from the people at Sperry — scuff up the bottoms on clean concrete just a bit. For full lace-ups, they’re fairly breathable through vents and the fabric tongue. They didn’t make blisters and felt broken in right away. They’re among the most comfortable boat shoes I’ve worn out of the box. My only complaint? Deck Runners don’t come in half-sizes. $80; westmarine.com
