Known for showing the rest of us how it’s done on Instagram and YouTube, Nicole Spenc also owns and single-handedly operates Nicole’s Fishing Bed and Breakfast, offering a range of lodging, including houseboats, plus charter and guide bookings, in Venice, Louisiana. She’s a spokesperson for BUBBA and Salt Life. We caught up to Nicole, appropriately, in the Florida Keys, fresh from boating her third swordfish in two days.

I’m a social media influencer who inspires more women to get outdoors. I also own a bed and breakfast.

What are some of the challenges?

It’s a man’s world, but I like to fish, hunt, go mudding…everything. Anyone can do anything if they put their mind to it. What fuels your fire?

Were you always into the outdoors?

I’m from Cocoa Beach, Florida, where my father was a commercial fisherman. Fishing is in my blood.

What’s the hardest part of running a B&B for anglers and hunters?

Venice is two hours from a real town. I run it by myself. If you don’t really love doing it, the isolation can be hard.

What’s the best part about what you do?

The smiles on clients faces when they take a bite into their home cooked meals after a long day of catching yellow fin tuna and or limits of red fish.
