It was a sad day not too long ago when I heard that Superboat was no longer building boats at its facility in Lindenhurst, New York. John Coen had been manufacturing low-cost high-performance boats on Long Island for enthusiasts on a budget for decades. No boat has exemplified the low-cost high-output reputation of Superboat than the Superboat 21. This outboard-powered boat has launched the offshore racing careers of such legendary names as Nigel Hook, J.D. D’Elia and Mike Gagliano and it can be argued that no outboard performance hull has delivered more bang for the buck than this one.
